GP not taking ownership of patient care
November 13, 2022
Following radiation treatment for cancer, I ended up suffering from spinal problem.
Been awaiting to see neurologist.
What is bad is that the GP wont chase the appointment for you. They say "do it yourself"
What if you aren't well enough?
When you want a GP appointment you can only phone on the day so no help.

Can't get services that are important
November 13, 2022
I can't get appointments for services like Asthma clinic or Diabetic clinic. Not often enough since covid. Can't see a named doctor. When you speak to the doctors, they haven't read the notes.
Surgery is not like it used to be. Not a family surgery. No longer personal service anymore.

Hard to get appointments, long referral times
November 13, 2022
Hard to get appointments.
from 8.30 onwards, cant get through until after 9am and this is costing me money.
Then it is two weeks to get appointment.
Feel very rushed when you see the Nurse practitioner or the GP. Not enough time is provided to discuss the medical problem.

GP not ready to put me on menopause treatment
August 31, 2022
Mentioned menopause to GP whilst at an appointment for something else.
Mentioned hot at night/sweating. I was told not ready to start any treatment but to get bamboo sheets for bed.

Refusal of emergency appointment
August 25, 2022
Had my second ever anxiety attack, understood I needed medication to reduce anxiety unfortunately the surgery refused to provide an emergency appointment to prescribe anything therefore my attack lasted 16hrs until I was exhausted.
Unable to access at the time I need help
August 25, 2022
Ring at the opening time, four days no connection, 5th day I am 9th in que. Receptionist asked what I require? Need prescription review as I can no longer request antidepressants, no appointments left today, call again tomorrow.
On the 3rd time I spoke to a receptionist, I received a call from a ‘community pharmacist’ who approved the renewed prescription. I have now been without any medication for 17 days due to this red tape.

booked appointment to see a doctor as i was experiencing night sweat and chest pain. booked an appointment with the GP who was a locum doctor. They failed to assess correctly and did not carry out her job correctly. Was advised I had indigestion and prescribed medication for this. It turned our I had a heart problem which the doctor failed to address and pickup.
Long waiting times and no appointments
June 26, 2022
I struggle to get appointments. you are waiting 2 weeks for an appointment when you do manage to speak to a staff for an appointment dependent on your conditions.
The waiting time on the phone is too long and there is no call back feature
The communication is not good and they do not keep patients informed. the receptionist can be abrupt. The GP are ok.
Positive - they do take children seriously and will see them face to face. They will offer appointments for children straight away. The service has started to get better slowly.

Always get apointments or advice

Midwifery and nurses are always pleasent. Explain things well and never keep you waiting. Doctor offered sufficient advice over the phone.
