A very good surgery which is easy to access
May 28, 2025
My experience of St Margarets Medical Practice has been very good. I have not had any issues accessing appointments. I was diagnosed with cancer after it was picked up as a result of my over 60 well being check carried out by my GP. Following the blood test results referrals were made very quickly by the surgery.

No problems getting an appointment

This is a very good surgery. I have no problems getting appointments at all. I phone at 8am and they give me an appointment the same day.
Rude receptionist and unclear system
March 12, 2025
The receptionist here is really rude and refuses to help. They also don't give clear instructions. I was told to bring a sample in and when we got there she was very argumentative and said it should have been brought before 3pm. We tried again later and they sent us to the pharmacy who just sent us back to this practice. Once we did get to see the doctor she was amazing but it was a long process to get in.

Can always get in and the staff are polite

This service is very good. The staff are very polite and were very supportive after my husband died. I don't go often but I can always get appointments when I need them. I do see different doctors each time but I quite like being able to get different opinions from them.
Didn\'t consider my disability

I was given an appointment upstairs despite my disability and they were very rude when I let them know I couldn't get up there. I also find it hard to get repeat prescriptions from them and have had to go 4 days without any medication before.
My concerns are not taken seriously!

There is a lack of continuity of care because there are lots of locum doctors at the surgery. I have had issues with the contraceptive pill and I have not felt like the doctors have listened to my concerns. I feel like I am being fobbed off and not taken seriously because of my age.
