SHP - Grove Surgery

I find their new triage system quite difficult to use as I am not online. I still manage to get appointments okay though.

I can't see a midwife on site and getting appointments in general can be difficult. I do usually manage when I really need to be seen though.

My experience at Grove Surgery has been mixed. The system for booking appointments is very poor, particularly when you telephone the surgery in the morning. The reception staff have been excellent, they are very kind and helpful. The problems lay further up and need improving. I don't always get to see a doctor when I need to. Communication within the surgery needs to get better.

I spoke to the receptionist here because the blood pressure reading I got at the hospital was very high. I was told to come back or call in an hour. I later received a call from the receptionist saying to call 999 as it sounded like I was having a heart attack. I told them I wasn't.

They are generally quite good but SHP's appointment system can make things confusing.

I don't book appointments over the phone or online but can usually get one in person when needed. The doctors and staff are all fine.

Overall I'm happy. There is a long wait for appointments here but the doctors are very good when it comes to examination and treatment.

I have no major problems with them. I can usually get an appointment when I need one but I will say it would be better if there were more advance appointments available. Sometimes I have to wait longer for a blood test so they try to send me to other surgeries which isn't convenient.

Access to appointments is improving. You are quite often sent to other SHP surgeries, this is not a problem for me because I drive, but I do prefer appointments where parking is not difficult.

The doctors at Grove Surgery and other SHP surgeries are very good. The reception staff at Grove Surgery are very helpful. It can be tricky getting an appointment but I usually manage within a few days of trying to get one.
