Good service but communication issues
My experience of the ophthalmology department at Solihull Hospital has been generally good. I have been treated for glaucoma and I have had my pre-op assessment for cataracts surgery. The staff are very nice and I have been happy with the care and treatment I have received. My concern is that there is poor communication between the hospital and my GP surgery. I have had issues with ongoing treatment and follow on care due to the fact that they do not seem to correspond with each other at all. My daughter cares for me and my husband and it means that she has to continuously chase things up and ask the hospital to contact the GP and so on. It is very frustrating and cannot be that hard for them to keep my GP updated on treatment and medication.
