The Grove Residential Home (Solihull)

Mum was a resident for 16 month as and was always very well looked after and cared for accommodating all her needs required . Mum had dementia and other health issues including cancer and could no longer look after herself at home. The Home came recommended to us and the management and staff became our extended family helping us through some difficult times particularly when mum developed secondary cancers just before Covid lockdown. They kept in touch with us and mum had all the loving care and attention that was needed to make her comfortable at all times. In mum's last few days the loving care and dignity to mum was of great comfort to us . The management and staff are truly dedicated to their work and it is like a family home. As they say ' this is your loved ones home ' and it is. We would highly recommend this Residential Home and we will be forever in their debt so to speak for the their loving care enabling us to spend mum's last few days with her despite Covid. Thank you Michelle , Jayne and all the staff.

My father lived at the Grove for 5 years & I can't praise it enough. Everything is focussed on providing a caring, homely environment for the residents. There is regular exercise groups, entertainment , excellent home cooked food and a beautiful garden. The carers are all lovely and over the 5 years there was a very small turnover of staff. As a family member I was always kept up to date & I have some lovely memories of the garden parties & Christmas events . My father sadly passed away this year but I'm so glad he had such a fantastic quality of life in his last 5 years - all due to the hard work of the management & staff at the Grove.

Mums level of care was excellent and we were always kept informed of any issues and had regular meetings with the management . The management and staff are very caring and give their all. It's like a big happy family and would definitely recommend this Care Home. Even with the Covid issues the staff volunteered to live in to keep it out and succeeded. The level of care at The Grove is simply outstanding. The Management, Michelle and Jayne, and each and everyone of the Staff go way beyond the call of duty in their dedication and commitment constantly demonstrated in their care for the residents. Simply put, it’s one big very happy extended family. How they have managed lockdown re Covid-19 has been nothing short of unquestionable dedication too. My sister and I, sadly have very recently lost our lovely 88 year old Mum (not Covid-19 related) who had been resident at The Grove for some 15 months. There are no words to describe the empathy and kindness given in end of life care and also the support given to us as a family has been simply wonderful. Michelle and Jayne and all of the staff really are the very best.

I have always been very happy with mum’s care since she moved to the grove about 6 years ago. Since Lockdown the staff have kept us well informed & appear to have done everything in their power to keep the staff & residents safe.

My Mother was resident in The Grove from Jan 2019 to April 2020. When she moved there she had mid stage dementia which progressed during her time there. My step father passed away with Vascular Dementia in 2015 in a care home in Coventry so from mid 2015 to the end of 2018 I probably visited every care home providing demential care in Coventry and Solihull and I can honestly say The Grove was by far the best. The accommodation may not be 4/5* but my Mum was more than happy with her room and the home in general. The care she received though was outstanding - and at times, due to her illness she could be a bit difficult. I can't praise the staff enough. The have all worked there for a long time and are very approachable so you are able to build a relationship with them and they clearly care greatly for their residents treating them as part of a family. This covers not only the care team but also the cleaning team, the cook and regular visitors. Mum passed away during lock down - she decided as the dementia progressed she no longer wanted to be here but even during this difficult time the staff were extremely compassionate allowing my daughter and I into the home (subject to all the necessary PPE and guidance) to be with Mum when she passed away. I can't praise them highly enough.

Mum has been a resident at the Grove for 3 years and during that time has been well looked after with kindness and care by all the staff. They have been careful to provide her with a care plan that has taken into account her deteriorating dementia and she has been regularly monitored to ensure all her changing needs are being met. Furthermore during the Covid crisis the Management and staff have been working tirelessly to keep the residents safe over and above what should be expected of them.
