I feel let down by my GP surgery

April 16, 2024
I feel very let down by my GP practice. I attended the surgery with pains in my legs and a bad headache and my concerns were dismissed. I ended up seriously unwell in hospital.

Good care but difficult to book appointments

February 23, 2024
The care from the doctors is very good but it is very difficult to get an appointment. The phone lines are constantly engaged, and I do not find it easy to walk to the surgery to book appointments in person.

Thank you for your comments. We have 4 telephones that are answered constantly during our opening times. There are obviously busier periods and first thing in the morning is one of them. I would suggest that you try later in the morning or early afternoon. We also have the availability to book online or through the app if you have it. Prescription requests can also be made online, via the app or direct to the practice email.

I walk to the surgery to get appointments

February 23, 2024
I find it difficult to get through on the phone so I walk to the surgery to get an appointment. I recently did this and although I could not get a face to face appointment I got a call back from the doctor within the hour. The doctors are very good.

I have not seen a midwife

Everything has been done online. I have not even seen a midwife in person during my pregnancy.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the process of booking in with the midwife for your initial appointment and also choosing your hospital for the pending birth has been changed by the community services, this has nothing to do with the surgery. We are however concerned that you have not yet seen a midwife and if you would like to contact the surgery with your details we will look at this further.

Seen by staff who are not doctors

October 20, 2023
You see more members of staff who are medically trained but are NOT doctors. They have low levels of skill and knowledge and never know what is wrong with you. The referral process is too slow. You need a referral for everything, you struggle to see the doctor who can refer you and when you do you know you are still in for a long wait.

Not been treated with respect

I have raised several concerns about my illness which have been dismissed as a mental health illness. I am now deteriorating rapidly.

I get to see the same GP which is great

May 17, 2023
The overall experience here is very good. I always manage to get an appointment and you get to see the same GP which is great because you experience a much more personal service. Recently after a period of ill health my GP called me at home (without an appointment) to check in with me to see how I was doing which was lovely. The doctors are all generally good. The staff are very friendly and helpful on the telephone but I do feel that when you are in the surgery waiting to speak to them they do not acknowledge you.

Very happy with service and doctors

March 31, 2023
I had a phone call appointment and I sent photos of my knees, GP called back and made face to face appointment and diagnosed with Bakers cyst. I was happy with the treatment. I take tablets for epilepsy and I have faced difficulties getting the GP to change my prescription because the pharmacy does not stock my original tablets anymore.
