Diagnosed & treated without being seen
My recent experience of Haslucks Green Medical Centre has been poor. The surgery has declined since the SHP merger, it used to be very good. I recently phoned up with a suspected urine infection. A doctor called back and told me they had sent a prescription to the pharmacy. A week later I was no better. I called the surgery again and I received a phone call from the doctor who told me they would send me more antibiotics. Again I did not get better so contacted the surgery again. This time the doctor said 'I had better come and see you'. They did a home visit that afternoon and sent me straight to the hospital. I think this is a strong example of how and why telephone appointments do not work. I was prescribed medication twice without being examined by a doctor and ended up in hospital as a result. My experience was very disappointing.
