The SHP merger was a disaster for patients!
The merger of all the surgeries becoming SHP was a disaster! There was nothing wrong with this surgery before this happened. The phone lines are now atrocious making it very difficult to get an appointment. I am not always able to get an appointment when I really need one. The telephone queues are very long and when you come down to the surgery there's a queue of people waiting outside in all weather. Absolutely awful seeing elderly patients desperate for an appointments standing in the cold/wind/rain, this is just not right! I believe that he the doctors are ageist! They no longer care about my wellbeing because I am old. You also never get to see the same doctor leading to a lack of continuity that makes appointments feel very impersonal as you have to constantly repeat yourself to different doctors.
