Routine appointment shambles

Was told to email to get an appointment because that’s quicker yet still took 24 hours for my email to be answered I was given an appointment the following day, email stated “tomorrow morning” which is a ridiculous time frame as that covers anything from 8am-11:59am and find it very hard to believe that a smaller time frame can’t be established I’m then told on the phone that I need to get blood pressure taken in order to get a prescription - so why wasn’t I invited into the surgery?? A low risk quick time procedure, yet instead I’m told to go out to Solihull to get one and I can’t get a contraceptive pill prescription before then and then ring up with my results 1. Ringing up takes about 3 hours of your life away 2. “Popping out” isn’t easy when you work 2 jobs 3. If this is protocol why have two separate female doctors given me a pill prescription before hand with no issues 4. Why wasn’t this information given to me prior to the appointment so then I could have got the information ready The standardisation of training is abysmal. The fact I have to go and get my blood pressure taken by a nurse but said nurse on the phone wouldn’t allow me to come to the surgery to get blood pressure taken is ridiculous Such a simple appointment now made into such a huge inconvenience I can only imagine the disarray over the important appointments around the Solihull area
